The aim of the Medicine Programme Committee (OCG) is to strengthen and link up medical education in the Netherlands.

The OCG is an official advisory organ for the NFU. The programme directors (or vice-deans) of the medicine programmes of the Netherlands are represented on it. Two student advisors also form part of the committee. These are students who are appointed every two years by the NFU, with one being replaced every year to ensure continuity. In addition, representatives of dentistry, technical medicine and veterinary medicine are present on it.

The OCG meets five to six times per year to discuss matters that concern all medical programmes. These can include, for example, the selection and lottery, the progress test, student welfare, international accreditation for the medical programme (WFME) and the implementation of Framework 2020.

The OCG provides the NFU with solicited and unsolicited advice about educational matters.
