Boundary conditions for scientific research

One of the main tasks of the umcs is scientific research. To facilitate the scientists’ work, agreements and tools are constantly being made, for example in the form of codes of conduct. The knowledge acquired through research is translated as quickly as possible into practical applications and innovations, like new treatments, medicines or devices. But it is also used for new policy or education and instruction about healthy living, for example.

Clinical resarch

The umcs provide high-quality care, and that is partly possible thanks to new insights and innovations deriving from their prestigious biomedical and healthcare research. Customised clinical research is of great importance to optimise patient care and continue innovating in the fields of prevention, treatment and aftercare.

Physically Demanding Occupation Regulation for umcs Arbitration Board

On November 1 2022 the Physically Demanding Occupation Regulation for umcs comes into force. It specifies that employees in certain occupations can retire 3 years earlier than the state retirement age (AOW).

Are you ill or unable to work? Discuss as soon as possible with your manager when and how you can get back to work (at least partially). If necessary, the company doctor, the ergonomist and a P&O-advisor of your own umc can support you with this.
