Cao negotiations resumed today

The unions and the Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU) met again today to discuss a new cao for UMC employees.

Education continuum

A wide-ranging, national work group developed a vision for the medical education continuum. Students, medical specialists in training, doctors not in training as specialists, PhD students, trainers and managers are making concrete recommendations to fundamentally improve the course of training medical students to become medical specialists.

Negotiations about new cao will continue in January

The Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU) and the unions will continue their discussion about a new cao for umc employees in January. That is the outcome of today’s discussion (Thursday, 7 December 2023). No concrete agreements have been reached as yet. The current cao expires on 31 December 2023; the existing working conditions remain in force until the new cao has been approved.

NFU proposals for Chapter 15 (academic medical specialists) in new cao

Part of the proposal for the new cao for employees of the university medical centres (UMCs) consists of agreements made with the academic medical specialists (incorporated in Chapter 15).
The Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU) is discussing this with the unions and representatives of those involved from all UMCs.

The Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU) and the unions met for the second time on Thursday, October 19, to discuss a new cao for UMC employees. The current cao expires on 31 December 2023. It contains an agreement that all salaries will be raised by 4% on 1 November 2023.
