Patient experience and improving care

Are patients satisfied with the treatment they received in the umcs? The umcs measure this with the Patient Experience Monitor (PEM). By learning from patient experiences, the umcs can continuously improve care.

Safe Patient Care Through Safe Technology

The NFU has coordinated the Safe Patient Care Through Safe Technology program. Its aim: effectively and efficiently implementing the new European legislation for medical devices (MDR) and in-vitro diagnostics (IVDR) in the umcs.

Significant improvements in working conditions for umc employees

The Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU) and the unions reached an agreement on Thursday evening, 15 February 2024, concerning the content of a new cao for the employees of all umcs. Next, the involved parties must officially approve this result of the negotiation. Getting their members’ agreement can take several weeks. The agreement applies for 2024 and 2025 and covers a total package of improvements.

COVID research

When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, the umcs quickly took action. They bundled their scientific knowledge and stimulated research into the causes, treatment and long-term effects of the virus.
